Your First Air Hockey Table
Air hockey - Two very simple words yet ones that have provided the World with one of the most competitive games ever invented by man.
There is no getting away from it, air hockey is extremely addictive, yet there are not as many tables around as many people would like. Many pubs do not fit them as the games can be extremely rowdy with players moving around fast, and after a few drinks this can be a recipe for people to fall over or simply fall in to other people! Whilst funny to watch it is not so funny if it happens to you.
Also by its very nature and the fact that the puck can be moving very fast it is not uncommon for the puck to leave the table and do so at quite some speed. Typically in a pub environment this can cause problems. Hence our favourite air hockey table often finds a pool table in its place even though pool is much harder to play.
Indeed understanding the mechanics of air hockey is very easy - hit the puck past your opponent and in to their goal to win. No real other rules exist.
However if your local pub does not have one you may well find one in your nearest arcade, but expect to pay out around 2 a game. This can soon add up for you and your children.
So why not buy an air hockey table instead? Now we recognise that a full size can take up quite a bit of room, but if you look around on the Internet you will now find that they can be bought in a wide range of sizes.
Indeed if you are short on space or have small children then you could invest less than 30 on a desktop model that can easily be stored in a cupboard when not in use. Or if you have slightly more room and a bigger budget then for under 200 you should be able to get a 6ft folding air hockey table.
A folding table of this size offers huge advantages as you get to play on a table that is virtually the same size as one that you would find in an arcade or pub, yet has the built in convenience factor that it folds down flat. This means it can then be turned on its side for easy storage, or it can simply be slid under a bed. So why not consider buying your own one today?
