Approximately fifty million Moo business cards were made and shipped during the last year. Just one year later, they expect to produce two times that.
Is their triumph well deserved? Having now ordered both their traditional and luxe cards, my estimation is that it is.
The following is my extensive Moo business cards review along with a look at all of the ways Moo is a cut above the majority of the most widely used business card printing companies.
Unique Offerings:
You are able to print standard business cards just about anywhere.
However, if you would like your cards to include as many as fifty assorted designs or photos per , Moo is the solution.
Due to my marketing and advertising background, I believe multiple images in one pack is among the greatest enhancements in business cards of the last few years, because of all the unique marketing opportunities it opens up.
For example...
- Salons can showcase nail art or stand-out hair styles
- Retail shops or boutiques can send potential customers home with a photo of the product they're looking into
- Clothing designers can feature a lot of examples of their work
- Photographers can showcase landscape photographs on one business card, wedding photos on another, etc.
- A baker can spotlight quite a few pictures or perhaps recipes that customers can "collect"
- A dessert designer can market both wedding cakes, children's birthday cakes, and anything in between
- A yoga teacher can present home fat loss / exercise techniques
- Interior design consultants can showcase a set of "before & afters" for various rooms
For me there's nothing worse than a business card that is unable to create an impression or progress the sale. Moo's "multi-design" concept more or less forces customers to think of their business card as a marketing tool, as opposed to a contact card. And therefore, they're more apt to be kept, appreciated... and shared.
Plus, Moo's quality (including print and paper quality) ranks as one of the highest I have received.
Several other options/add-ons include things like mini-cards, round edges, a 100% recycled paper stock, plus an uber-thick, 32-point cardstock (see Moo Luxe section down below), giving you several options for extra impact.
Moo Standard Business Cards:
I got a 50-pack of their standard business cards and uploaded several family snap shots to see how their layout tool worked. It proved quite simple to use and personalize with my pictures and contact info.
The cards arrived on a rather respectable 15.5 point stock.
Moo refers to the paper as "matte laminate"... which felt very much like a silk business card if you've ever felt one. It's silky and smooth and certainly high quality. Their basic cards are also thicker as compared to most other business cards in my collection. The color (full color both sides) appears vibrant, and the text very clear.
Please note: Full-bleed photography is perfectly suited to this card stock..
Moo Luxe Business Cards:
Moo's newest business card offering is known as Luxe.
I got a 50 pack of the "Freud" design template for my sister - as it is the perfect fit for her occupation as a social worker.
They are printed on ultra-thick 32-point cardstock, which is roughly double the thickness of their regular cards (and virtually triple the average business card). You'll notice the difference immediately, and so will your recipients.
The cards aren't silky like the standard cards. They feature a textured matte feel, of fine quality paper.
A distinguishing stripe of colour runs through the center of the stock - similar to painted edge business cards, however it's only the middle third, as opposed to the full side of the card. Therefore when you look at a stack of them from the side, you will see alternating white, color, white. There are atleast four colours to select from. An attractive touch in my opinion.
The cards are certainly not inexpensive, but the product quality and thickness more than justify the extra expenditure.
Please note: This cardstock is most suitable for more subtle designs or artwork, as opposed to full-bleed images - which are better suited to their regular cardstock.
All Around Review:
My over-all buying, design, & product quality experience was great. Moo's online customization tool makes for relatively straightforward design, uploading and customization, plus the order progression is smooth and imbued with style...
After you submit your order you receive a confirmation from "Little Moo"... and as it's processed you get a notification that the order has progressed to "Big Moo" for printing. Naturally, you'll get a shipping and delivery confirmation as well, making everything headache-free. In addition, the order is boxed and presented (notably in the case of Luxe) to delight.
