Toasters are inevitably one of the modern kitchen gadgets that almost every household would have except for the fact that there may be variations in their model, design, look and functionality. To name a few there are the simple small toasters that cater to a small family and can provide you with 2 slices of toasts at a time and there are those 4 sliced ones for a medium or the 6 sliced ones for a bigger family or for small to medium commercial purpose. And then there are the enhanced versions that combine the functionalities of a toaster and an oven and are called the Toaster Oven.
So the first thing that one needs to see while purchasing Toasters is the output requirement. Basing on that one can choose any of the above mentioned Toasters. If is thinking of getting an appliance that do both the work of a toaster and an oven they can go for the Toaster Oven. But if they have made up their mind to get a full oven and that the Toasters would just be used as Toasters only then they can go for the typical stand alone Toasters.
Second major point to be considered is the budget. One has to check one's own affordability, the requirement and the cost of each model. If it is that you can afford to buy a toaster as well as an oven or micro oven separately then you can opt for any of the 2, 4 or 6 sliced toasters. But if your cost doesn't permit for a full fledged oven you can go for a two in one i.e. the Toaster Oven.
The next thing to be noted is the functionalities. Different models have different functionalities. The basic and standard Toasters may have simple on and off and timer functionalities while others have the temperature control (this would help in deciding how much brown and crispy you want the toast to be), if it is a manual ejection toaster there would be the ejection button etc. Heating and defrosting functions are available in some models.
Now that you have chosen the make and the model depending upon your need and budget, the next factor that comes up is the size and shape of the Toasters. If you have sufficient space you can go about with a bigger version. In these Toasters the slice slots would be bigger to accommodate bigger sized loaves. But if you have space constraints a compact one is always better.
Next step is to choose the color and style. Your kitchen would surely be set in a good color combination with the walls having a color and your other appliances complimenting it well. So you should ensure that your Toasters too are of a color that would match your kitchen decor. Now that you are spending so much and if the color doesn't go with it your entire effort would go in vein. It would look like an odd man out.
The final aspect that needs to be seen is the warranty period assured by the manufacturer. Some give longer warranty period which itself indicates that such Toasters are durable and long lasting.
