The routine had started again. The routine that slowly killed. Eat, work, and sleep. That was what we corporate slaves would face, day in day out. To get out of this system, a group of us from the office would pack our laptop bags and backpacks and adventure out for a weekend once in a while. We'd pack our backpacks and laptop bags for a journey out into the unknown. We'd travel to break the shackles of city life which was killing us slowly and surely. These weekend trips through the outdoors really helped us perform better as well as reduce the scary work-life balance.
It had been four months since we last made a trip. Everyone at the workplace had immersed themselves into their own tasks that, what was four months felt like a month that just flew by. Day after day we would follow a set schedule. A schedule that drained us from the inside. So drained that when the outdoors were calling, we had to answer.
The last Friday of the month was just getting done. Our laptop bags and laptop backpacks ready with our winter gear and winter wear, we were ready to face the outdoors in all its magnificence. Ready with our trekking boots that we had bought online, we were ready to ride to ride the wind and enjoy the experience of a lifetime.
Korakundah, found deep within the Southern Nilgiri mountain range was the destination for our next expedition through the outdoors. The same night that Friday, four of us got onto the bus and headed off to Korakundah with our laptop bags and backpacks which we used as make shift trekking bags. Ready to jump on the bus, we strapped on our backpacks filled with our winter gear and winter wear and headed out.
The Nilgiri Mountains offered some great terrain for us to explore. Roaming around freely through the mountains, carrying our makeshift backpacks and laptop bags, our trekking boots drilled through the ground as we explored the region. The tea estates of the region, showed us the true beauty of the area, which is covered with mountains on its perimeter. As we continued our exploration, we got to the lakes of Korakundah. Sparsely spread out between mountain tops, and green pastures, we decided to pitch our tents up under the stars. Once done, we all gathered together, setup up the most magnificent bonfire under the stars and enjoyed a night experiencing the outdoors the right way...alongside the elements.
The next morning as the sun came up, we trekked back through the green field, mountain tops and tea estates. Our backpacks and laptop bags, accompanied us on the journey back to the start. Our trekking boots, covered in mud and muck were a treat to our eyes. We experienced the outdoors and it was time to head back to the mundane corporate life. Boarding the bus we were prepared for the next long stretch at the office with our handy laptop bags and backpacks.
