Wanaka is situated on the South Island of New Zealand in the Otago region and is part of the Queenstown Lakes District. The town was originally settled during the gold rush in the 19th century. A laid back Kiwi vibe surrounds the resort, making it an infectious place to hang out even when you're not riding. The features include a pristine world-class superpipe that is suited and ride able by all ability levels, quarter pipe, various sized jumps, rails, boxes and other random features. All features vary in size and ability and there is also designated learner's area to work on your skills and to build your confidence up before moving to some larger features.
Cardrona Alpine Ski Resort
The resort of choice for everyone, from your first time ski holiday with your friends and family to pipe riding freaks, this is the one stop resort for you. The facilities at Cardrona Alpine Resort are excellent, equipment hire and lessons are available for those that are first timers, or those that just need a refresher. The terrain is made up of 25% beginner runs, 50% intermediate and 25% advanced, there is access to a selection of out-of-bounds terrain for when you need to escape the crowds and enjoy the powder.
