More often than not, people think that the bigger the appliance, the better. Even in the kitchen. So, they would go for the largest refrigerator (double door perhaps), the largest stove (4 or more burners), the biggest microwave oven there is, the largest rice cooker, and most probably weirdly large food processors. Now, there is nothing wrong with it, if you have the space and the utility for the same. But if it is for just 2 people, then choose a size, that best suits your needs.
Tip #2 - Expensive does not always means its best
Now, that is a very common tendency among all, to buy the most expensive product, assuming that it will be the best. Even if you can afford it, it does not mean you should. Of course, the most expensive thing might also be very good, but it is not co-dependent. What you need to buy should be well within your budget, and if you can save even in that, why not? Also, you need not buy the highest upgrade of a product, if your need is pretty basic.
Tip #3 - User Review Are very important
Yes, before buying any kitchen appliance, check for its user reviews online. Your focus should be on buying a product that is being appreciated by all. You can find user reviews on the company website itself, on the many online selling portals like eBay, Flipkart, Snapdeal etc., or even on review websites. If you don't see a review, ask for one.
Tip #4 - Get only what is needed
This may sound like the first one, but it is not. There we said, even if you need a product, you need not buy the biggest in the niche. Here we are saying, don't buy a product if you don't need it at all. You might have seen that cool kitchen gadget in your friend's house, and would absolutely want it. But do you need it? If the answer is no, then don't buy, just because someone else has it. For example, you may not be a rice fan - then there is no need to buy a big, expensive rice cooker, right?
Tip #5 - Make the most out of your purchase
If you have decided on a product, the next thing to look for is if you can get any offer on it. Do not let go of any offer, be it a free gift, or a chance to win a draw, or a discount offer on an online portal. Buy from a source that will give you the best value for money on the same product.
Tip #6 - Buy Branded Products
Again, this does not mean expensive, but simply that you should be able to recognize the brand easily. A brand you have not heard of, might not be good enough, and may end up not working efficiently. So, choose your kitchen appliances from trusted brands like Panasonic. They have the best food processor, refrigerator, microwave oven, rice cookers etc.
