The Versatility of The Exercise Bike
Training on an exercise bike is just as intense as training in a gym using barbells or pushups, or running, walking or riding outdoors, they are all meant for the same purpose and that is to keep you fit. You set a goal and try to maintain it.
Whatever methods you choose they all require the same concentration, and determination. Firstly, like all other training you have to do warm-ups, by doing light exercises and building up the momentum as you go. You can combine your exercise bike training with other exercises such as push ups; after you have been riding your bike say about thirty minutes, try doing some other exercises to tone the rest of your body, like the muscles in your arms.
You should devise a routine on how you want to do your various exercises, which you can always alternate to make it less repetitive, switch which exercise you do first on a daily basis, if you start with the exercise bike training first on a given day try doing some push ups instead and then do your exercise bike riding and so on. When exercising on an exercise bike remember resistance is the key, some high end exercise bikes often offer fitness programs to increase and decrease the intensity of the exercise, and it all depends on which bike you purchased. If you purchased one of those models try starting with the less intense exercises and gradually move up to the more intense ones.
Before you start training make sure that you are seated comfortable, because if you are uncomfortable you will find it frustrating to do your exercise. Also bad posture will put excessive stress on your lower back and spine which will certainly cause you some pain. Exercise bike training does not limit you to exercise at home; there are many exercise bike clubs you can join, which will make training more interesting, because you will be training with other people who you will be able to interact with.
This is one of the advantages when training with the exercise bike, you do not have to do a lot of strenuous concentration, and so you can exercise and have a great conversation with your fellow trainee at the same time and before you know it you have been riding for an hour. Also because it is important to keep cool while training, at the gym you will be most likely training in an air-condition room, but the average person doing exercise at home might not be able to afford this comfort and so may be stuck with just a fan, which will definitely not be as effective as an air-conditioned room.
