Toy Remote Control Helicopters Are Easy And Fun Way to Fly
Now, anybody is able to enjoy flying remote control helicopters thanks to toy RC helicopters. These toy helis are not complicated or hard to maintain but are surprisingly easy to fly in addition to being cheap. Although toy RC helis do not offer the same level of flight control and precision compared to their counterparts the grade micro coaxial and collective pitch RC helicopter but are fun to fly and the best choice for anyone starting out on the hobby of flying before investing in a true hobby RC helicopter. These toy birds can become even better when one performs some simple modification to the controller. The lift control and accurate throttle are improved as a result of modification to the controller.
How do these toy remote control helicopters work?
There are two channels of control employed in the most common and least expensive design offers. The two channels of control include yaw (tuning) and lift. To counteract the reactive torque, these toy helis use a tail rotor and one main rotor. The purpose of the main rotor is to control lift by speeding up and down. The tail rotor enables the right and left turns by slowing down and speeding up. Therefore the main two channels of control is speed of the tail and main rotor. It is as simple as that. The forward flight is enabled by the nose weight a little bit shifting the centre of gravity of main rotor mast forward. The two simple channels of control of the toy helicopters slowly drift forward thereby producing a forward flight.
The other two channels of control make use of two counter rotating rotors for supply of both yaw and lift control. Here, weight is again used to change the centre of gravity to produce a fast or slow forward flight movement. The control precision in any 2 channel toy helis is not that good but is still fun to fly. Another design in the toy segment of RC helicopters is the 3 channel coaxial toy helicopter. Just like the micro coaxial RC helicopters, this toy version uses two counter rotating main rotors. When the speed of the rotors are altered to one another, the helicopter is able to be turned (yawned) right or left (1st channel) and also be control lifted (2nd channel).
The 3rd channel of control in the toy chopper segment is used for control of direction and speed of a small tail rotor. This small rotor is mounted vertically but not horizontally. The toy helicopter is able to fly forward slowly if the small tail rotor blows air towards the tail of the helicopter. The forward fly comes about due to pitching of the tail from blown air of the small tail rotor. The heli slowly drifts backwards if the tail fan direction reverses and blows up due to the tail pitching down the toy helicopter.
