Fantasy hockey leagues #1: The Points League
When you say points league, it is the one where point multipliers are assigned to a particular category. The owners try to garner the needed points to win by scoring in the categories in spite of not having a weekly competition.
An example of this is if 10 points are to be given for a goal score while 3 points for a hockey assist, then a player who scores 20 goals and 50 assists will collects 200 and 150 which totals 350 and that would be the fantasy hockey owner's score. The same system of points is awarded for the scoring in multiple categories.
Fantasy hockey leagues #1: Head to Head (H2H)
A fantasy hockey league that uses head to head means that fantasy owners will be competing again with each other on a one on one duel which happens each week. The fantasy hockey owner must try to win as much categories in a week as possible. This is important because the weekly scores will be tallied and totaled at the end of the season and the cumulative score will make the owner a winner or not.
The head to head fantasy hockey league is the only league that offers the bracket-style playoff game format that occurs at the regular season's end.
The new head to head points systems is a type of system which mixes the concept of two kinds of leagues. The combination of weekly match-ups and opponents play to accumulate the most number of points. The points are based and earned from each statistic. Each of these stats have been assigned a specific amount. An example is a goal can be worth five points while an assists can be worth ten points.
Fantasy Hockey leagues # 3: The Rotisserie League (Rota)
This is the type of league in which teams are numbered and classified from worst to best. For example, in a ROTA league, if there are 20 teams and 20 categories, the most number of points a team can win is 200 (this is if that teams win 1st in all of the categories). The worst team can gain 20 points as a result of getting one point in all the categories.
A rota league is said to be the most strategic type of fantasy hockey pool. A winner of a rota league means that the manager who selected it was adept enough to draft pick a team that is strong, balanced and wins in most of the categories.
