Sometimes people try to help their businesses' budgets along a bit by shopping for used trucks when it's time to add to the company fleet. However, that isn't necessarily the best idea. Sometimes, it's better to go with new trucks because that way you're getting something that's got little to no wear on any of its mechanisms. It'll be easier to maintain, because there isn't the same level of need for it as with older models. So, it'll actually cost you a lot less to use over time than buying something with a lot of prior use would.
The best choice will, of course, depend on the individual case. Sometimes you simply can't afford to buy new trucks because of the limits of your company's budget. At other times, you just can't find something suitable among newer models, but there are plenty in the used section. Both these and many other factors can go either way to affect the decision of which kind to buy, so you need to take your time in order to make sure that your decision is the right one - and that it doesn't wind up cutting you off from a better choice later on in your search.
However, the fact remains that there are always new innovations being developed and that they are readily included in new trucks, whereas the older designs are left without any of the improvements that have come along. The more recent the model is,the more up to date all of its parts are going to be, which can have a wide range of effects. Anything from fuel expenditure to ease of driving may be helped out by what's been included in the newest of models, so you should never discount them when you're in the market for a new semi.
