The success of your camping trip relies not just on the company or the place but also on the camping equipment that you bring with you. Even if the campground you choose is wonderful and perfect for what you have in mind and that the people who are coming are your dear friends, your camping trip would not be as enjoyable or as exciting as you would want it to be if you were not able to bring all the camping essentials like the camping tent. As much as you love nature, you also have become used to modern conveniences that would make camping not as easy as you hoped it would be.
While you want to enjoy the beauty of nature as you go camping, it makes sense that you would not want to sacrifice all the comforts of home. When you make a list of camping equipment that you have to bring, you would have to think of everything that you would need for the duration of your camping. It can be a long list. If you have to choose five items or equipment that you should not forget or should be at the top of the list, it would have to be the following: camping tent, portable heater, camp stove, cooler, and lanterns.
As you would be sleeping outdoors, you would need some form of shelter like the tent. Not just any tent would suffice. There are a lot of things you need to consider when choosing the right tent. You have to factor in the weather and the number of people who are coming. You need something to keep you safe, warm, dry, and comfortable. The tent should be waterproof and made of durable materials to be able to withstand the cold, wind, and rain. It should also protect you from crawling insects. There should be proper ventilation so that you would breathe easily inside.
The tent should be big enough for everyone to be comfortable when sleeping. There should be room for some of your stuff that you need to keep inside the tent especially at night. You might also consider a tent with a vestibule to provide shelter to your things. It can be cold at night and you need something to keep you warm aside from your sleeping bag and sleeping pads. You should bring a portable heater with you. While the campfire can be a good source of heat outside, you would need the heater to keep you warm inside the tent.
Make it easy for you to cook your food when camping and bring a camp stove and enough gas. You can cook almost anything if you have this camping equipment with you. Just do not forget to bring all the cooking paraphernalia and ingredients that you would need. Plan your menu so that you would know what to bring. Bring a cooler for your perishables and for your drinks. Do not forget to buy ice. It can get very dark in the camp with only the campfire to provide light. Bring lanterns and flashlights because you would surely need them.
