Remember, forging process is totally different from the casting process. Metal employed to create forged parts is not melted and poured like in the casting process.)
China forge process eliminates the possibility of any defects. In addition, the finished part is much better than casted part of same material.
Different types of forging
Closed die forging - Metal is pressed between two dies, which include a pre-cut profile. Components ranging from a few ounces to about 60,000 pounds can be made.
Open die forging - This process is performed with two flat dies without any pre-cut profiles. It is optimum for extremely broad range shapes and sizes.
Metal cold forging - Forging is performed at a temperature of 2,300 °F. Cold forging includes many methods like bending, cold heading, cold drawing, extrusions, coining and more to produce variety of part shapes.
Seamless rolled-ring forging - Holes are pinched in thick round metal piece and then rolled, pounded and squeezed into a seamless thin ring.
Kinds of metals forged
Metal China Forge Company makes use of common metals like stainless steel, alloy, and carbon. For hard tools aluminium, steel, titanium, copper and brass is used. For high temperature, alloys that include nickel, cobalt or molybdenum are applied.
Each metal differs in strength and weight. Therefore, material is selected in accordance to customer demand and part requirements.
Applications of forged parts
Automotive sector - Strength, economy and reliability makes forged parts ideal to be applied in the automotive sector. Forged parts can be found at king pins, wheel spindles, torsion bars, axle beams & shafts, idler arms, ball-studs, steering arms and pitman arms.
Agricultural sector - Besides transmission and engine parts, the main forging parts that are subjected to impact range from shaft, levers and gears to spike harrow teeth, tie-rod ends and cultivator shafts.
Valve & fitting sector - Forgings are connected with high pressure application of valve & fitting sector. Heat-resistant and corrosion-free materials are used to forge valve bodies & stems, flanges, saddles, elbow reducers, tees and other fittings.
Hand tools and hardware - Common examples of hand tools and hardware include hammers, pliers, wrenches, garden tools, sockets, hooks, wire-rope clips, and eye-bolts. Dental and surgical instruments are often forged. In addition, electrical hardware for transmission and supply lines are forged for strength, corrosion-free, and dependability.
Industrial sector - Industrial equipment applied by textile, steel, paper, chemical & refinery industries to name a few forge great sizes of components.
Defence sector - Forged parts are witnesses in basically all the defence equipment ranging from nuclear submarine drive shaft to rifle triggers. Shells, heavy tanks, artilleries, armored personnel carriers and missiles are common forged applications related to the defence sector.
Aerospace sector - Weight to high strength ratio and structural dependability influences the range, performance and payload capacity of an aircraft. Super alloy are used to forge parts like blades, discs, couplings, buckets, shafts, wheels, break carriers, chambers, and rings.
Forging process is specially used for applications, which need maximum part strength, performance specifications or custom size. You will find forged parts that differ in shape, size, and style. They range from wrench and hammer in the toolbox to tolerance precision components contained within assembled items like NASA space shutter and Boeing 747.
