Pegas® Scroll Saws are high-precision tools, which with a minimum amount of maintenance, will provide reliable service and great satisfaction for many years. This scroll saw is developed in Switzerland - made in Taiwan to the rigorous specifications and quality requirements of Pegas. This product will ship within three business days, please note we are not open on holidays or weekends. The Pegas Scroll Saw - Why is it better? While it’s made in the same factory in Taiwan where the Excalibur scroll saw used to be made, Pegas has added Swiss precision and engineering to their scroll saw. Let’s start with a beefed up chassis featuring a reinforced web in the connecting rod and vertical rocker and needle bearings pressed into the rocker arm as opposed to a sleeve and bolt connection that is prone to wear and failure. Next, the saw comes with the revolutionary Pegas Blade Chuck Heads installed (a $90 value). These precision-machined blade clamps, manufactured from aircraft-grade aluminum, can be adjusted easily to grip blades better than any other clamp on the market, and weigh less to reduce wear on your machine. Finally, the table boasts a thick, scratch-resistant coating that prevents corrosion and make the wood slide easier. The saw still boasts the precision rack-and-pinion system that tilts the saw head to make angled cuts (instead of tilting the table). It tilts a full 45-degrees to the right, and 35-degrees to the left (because of the dust collection port). It also positions all of the primary controls (speed, power, and blade tension) at the front of the top saw arm. A stand and foot switch are available.
It also exposes the stupidity and evil of internet censorship by exposing filter lists - for example, Denmark's list, which included a Dutch transport company, and Thailand's, ostensibly for child pornography but every single site is marked "lese majeste". So obviously, its on the Australian government's list of banned websites. To censors, talking about censorship is itself cause for censorship. Australian websites which link to it could now face fines of A$11,000 a day for doing so. And the Australian Communications and Media Authority, the body responsible for creating and maintaining the blacklist, "has also referred the matter to the appropriate law enforcement agency". You couldn't come up with a more perfect example of the evil of web censorship if you tried. Update: Wikileaks has now posted the full Australian blacklist. No doubt they'll ban that too. The last thing censors want is for their decisions to be publicly scrutinised and debated.
