Cheese and coffee layered cake recipe
Coffee is widely accepted due to its very nice aroma. It is not only consumed as a drink, but it can also be used as one of the cooking ingredients such as for making cookies and cakes. This article presents a cheese and coffee cake recipe that must be tried. It is basically divided into two parts; the cheese layer (A) and the coffee layer (B).
Ingredients for A:
10 egg yolks
75 grams fine sugar
50 grams milk powder
75 grams melted butter
50 grams grated cheddar cheese
In order to prepare the cheese layer, whisk the eggs and sugar until fluffy. Add wheat flour and milk powder gradually into the mixture, followed by melted butter. Mix slowly with cheddar cheese. Pour the mixture into a baking pan and bake at 180oC until cooked. Put aside to cool.
Ingredients for B:
250 grams butter
15 egg yolks
125 grams fine sugar
Quarter teaspoon of baking powder
25 grams corn flour
25 grams milk powder
1 teaspoon of sweetened condensed milk
Coffee paste
1 teaspoon of ovalette (optional)
Some strawberry jam
Beat butter in a bowl until smooth. Add in sweetened condensed milk and coffee paste and mix thoroughly then put aside.
Beat eggs, sugar and ovalette until fluffy. Add in sieved corn flour, milk powder and baking powder and stir gently. Then, mix it with the butter mixture. Pour 125 grams of this mixture into a baking tray. Bake at 150oC using the upper heat for about 6 minutes, layer by layer until done. After finished, bake for another 10 minutes with heat from the lower stove.
Now we have two separate layers. In order to combine both layers, cut horizontally each layers after they are cool so that we have 4 layers altogether. Spread some jam in between the layers and arrange them interlaced. Serve after about two hours to ensure that these layers stick.
